OWL Navigators™
OWL Navigators™: Learning to Navigate Health and Wellness
OWL Navigators™ is designed for middle school students as they navigate greater independence, changing responsibilities, and increasingly complex health and wellness decisions. Through engaging, age-appropriate health literacy education, students strengthen their ability to understand health information, recognize influences, communicate effectively, think critically, and make informed choices.
OWL Navigators™ provides high-quality, standards-informed learning aligned with the National Health Education Standards, which school districts across the country are encouraged to use when developing or revising health education standards, frameworks, and curricula. The program can complement existing school health and wellness education while helping students develop practical skills for navigating real-life situations.
Schools can purchase group access to OWL Navigators™ and integrate engaging online lessons, video-based learning, and educator resources into their wellness education efforts. OWL Navigators is the third stage in the OWL Academy wellness literacy pathway; however, it is a standalone program, so schools do not need to purchase or implement OWL Cadets or OWL Explorers before introducing Navigators.
OWL Navigators™ helps middle school students move beyond health awareness and begin developing the knowledge, confidence, and skills to navigate information, influences, and choices that shape their well-being.
OWL Navigators is designed for middle school students and the adults and organizations supporting them through an important period of growth, change, and increasing independence. Created for students in 6th through 8th grade, the program helps learners develop practical health literacy skills they can apply to everyday situations.
OWL Navigators equips middle school learners with practical health literacy skills to understand information, evaluate choices, manage challenges, and make increasingly informed decisions about their health.

When schools purchase group access to OWL Navigators, they receive engaging, age-appropriate resources designed to strengthen health literacy and support wellness education for students in 6th through 8th grade.
Together, schools, educators, administrators, and families can help young Navigators build the knowledge and skills needed to thoughtfully navigate health information, influences, relationships, and decisions.
- Group Online Access — Flexible access for participating students and educators.
- Engaging Video Lessons — Age-appropriate learning experiences that address health, wellness, decision-making, and real-world influences.
- Teaching Guides — Educator resources that support instruction, discussion, and continued learning.
- Curriculum Integration Support — Flexible resources designed to complement existing health and wellness education and support alignment with the National Health Education Standards and local curriculum goals.
- A Standalone Program Option — Schools can implement OWL Navigators independently. OWL Cadets and OWL Explorers are not prerequisites, allowing schools to select the OWL stage that best serves their students.
OWL Navigators helps students in 6th through 8th grade explore the knowledge, skills, and influences that shape health and well-being during the middle school years. As students become more independent, they learn to think critically, ask questions, evaluate information, communicate effectively, and apply what they learn to real-life choices.
Through engaging videos, guided discussions, real-world scenarios, and practical learning activities, OWL Navigators helps students strengthen the confidence and skills needed to navigate an increasingly complex world of health information and choices. Each module is designed to help students understand themselves, interact responsibly with others, and make informed choices as they grow.
